>Nothing excites an artist more than a creative spark, a freshly brewed idea, or a thread of inspiration. Every artist has a unique way of exploring creativity and creating art. Be it a play of colours, a mosaic of images, a snippet of words, a frame of visuals, or even a new game character. Everything starts from a spark.>
>In the present-day scenario, we are consuming huge bundles of information from multiple sources in different formats all at once. At times while working on a design in Photoshop or a short motion graphics video the after-effects you work on might crash. But what happens when your brain crashes? All you can think of is a void, nothing goes in or comes out. You are just stuck. We have all been there.>
>A creative block is something that all of us experience. Be it when you have just started the project, in the middle, or about to wrap it up. So just like you recover the files in the platforms is there a way to knock it off and to keep the brain back on track?>
Unplug from your smart devices
It has come to a time wherein every one of us owns a smartphone. We find ourselves often unlocking our phones and starting the doom scroll. Every second we are tempted by the notifications, that reel shared by our friends, the story by a famous artist we follow and more. So when the creative block strikes – try taking a break from your phones.
Stop thinking loud and enjoy things you truly love
If you are stuck doing a design, or a video or can’t build that character in your game you are designing – take a break. Try finding peace in the things that you truly love – like watching a movie, playing your favourite game and more.
Try journaling
Writing down things can help you achieve more than you think. Wherever you find yourself lost, whichever design you are stuck in – write down all the possibilities that you can do to make it work.
Try talking it out with your fellow artists/mentor
When you feel stuck with your artwork, you can always go to your friends or your mentor for help. Talk to them about everything that you feel and are currently working on. The more you brainstorm with them, the more it can help you.
>Remember that breaks should be an active part of your routines, so embracing them at times will be really helpful for you. An artist runs on the currency of creativity, hence it’s important to keep your brains active and imagination flowing. So these are some of the many things you can try out to get out of the creative block. But not everyone has the same working style, hence different individuals require different things to keep their creative voice loud. Tell us in the comments below what are the things that you do when you find yourselves in a creative block! >
