    Established

    The Asian Institute of Gaming & Animation (AIGA) was founded as the first institute dedicated to Game Development in India followed by Animation and Game Programming.

  2. 2013
    Rise of AVGC industry

    To cater to the progressing AVGC industry and increased demand for skilled professionals, undergraduate programs were developed at AIGA.

  3. 2017
    Rebranded as AID

    AIGA (Asian Institute of Gaming & Animation) rebranded as AID (Asian Institute of Design) by introducing a wider range of programs in accordance with the latest needs in the education sector.

    Affiliation

    Affiliation from the Bangalore North University to offer degree courses to produce industry-ready graduates with strong conceptual and practical knowledge.

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It has an estimated budget of €26.2 billion. This is nearly double the funding compared to its predecessor programme (2014-2020). The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.

Managing Director, Middle East College, Sultanate of Oman

Mr. Lefeer Muhamed Marakkarackayil, an alumnus of the University of Wolverhampton, completed his MBA in International Business in 1996. He then had a successful career in manufacturing and service sectors in India. In 2001, he became the founding Managing Director of Middle East College, contributing to its development. In 2007, he co-founded Asian Institute of Gaming & Animation (AIGA) in Bangalore, India with Dr. Sabahy. Mr. Marakkarackayil was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of Wolverhampton in 2012 for his contributions to higher education in the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Sabahy began his career with Oman Air in the early 1990s. Later, he joined the Office of the Special Advisor for External Liaison to His Majesty, the Sultan of Oman, and served as Director of External Liaison until 2000. In 1995, he enrolled in the MBA program at the University of Wolverhampton and pursued a PhD program in 1996. His PhD research focused on the Implementation of Total Quality Management in the finance industry in Oman and the UAE.

Dr. Kiran G.R. is the Key Advisor of Asian Institute of Design (AID). He holds a PhD in Information Systems from the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK, with 23+ years of experience in higher education management, teaching, research, policy development, and governance reforms. He is currently the Dean of Middle East College (MEC), Oman. He is an External Reviewer with Oman Authority of Academic Accreditation (OAAA) and has led strategic objectives for MEC. He has also headed governmental projects on e-governance and ICT in India.

Mr. Ali Said Al Uraimi is the Director of the Asian Institution and a Board Member at Middle East College. He is currently the CEO of Nakheel Oman Development Company. He holds a postgraduate degree from Lancaster University in Management Learning and Leadership, and is pursuing a doctorate in Business Administration as a research associate at Coventry University. Mr. Al Uraimi is an IMD Lausanne Alumni and a member of Oman Business Forum, National CEO program, and Oman Economic Society.

Dr. S. Alfred Devaprasad is CEO of Christwood School and former President & CEO of Alpha Group of Educational Institutions. He holds M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Physics from renowned institutions. With 20+ years of experience, he has led esteemed institutions such as Loyola College, St. Christopher’s College of Education, and Kodaikanal International School. Dr. Glenn C. Kharkongor is the Chancellor and ex-Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University, India. He is a certified pediatrician with an MBBS from Christian Medical College, Vellore, and a Masters in Public Health from Loma Linda University, USA. He has held various leadership roles in prestigious educational institutions and has authored numerous articles on educational policies. He has expertise in subjects such as social work, environment, and counseling psychology.

Ajay Revalia

Chief Technology Officer

Ajay has 21+ years of experience in EdTech industry especially in building startups from scratch. He has successfully led the technology team of India’s biggest ed-tech companies like ImaginXP, Talentedge and iProf and successfully exited 2 startups, First one was acquired by HT Media in 2009 and second one was acquired by ImaginXP in 2020. He has hands-on experience in building learning framework for K-12, Test Prep, Higher Education and Corporate Learning. He has transformed one of the largest Test Prep institute "Resonance"'s physical learning environment to hybrid learning.

Dr. Nicolás Patrici is an expert in globalization, leading the Observatory of Globalization at the University of Barcelona. With 15+ years of international experience in higher education and research, he has driven initiatives across Europe, India, Latin America, Africa, MENA, and GCC. Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona, he conducted doctoral studies at University of Leiden and Science Po.

Vikram is the CFO of Asian Institute of Design, responsible for all financial functions. He holds a post-graduate degree in business administration and data analytics, and is certified in internal auditing, chartered accounting, and fraud examination. As the treasurer, Vikram manages finance and accounting, oversees cost management, develops business valuation models, conducts statistical data analysis, handles GST solutions and tax audits. He is a key contributor to AID's sustainable economic growth.

Mr. Hanif Mohammed Marakkarackayil is the founder and CEO of Asian Institute of Design with 20+ years of education sector experience. Holds a Master's degree in Management from the University of Glasgow, specializing in International Finance. Responsible for AID's strategy and vision. Founding member of Middle East College (MEC) and Integral Solutions LLC. Board member of various companies and Regional Director for Smart Knowledge Alliance (SKA). Involved in formulating AVGC policy for Government of Karnataka. Treasurer of ABAI. Vice President of Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA).

Bhaskar, with 12+ years' experience in top animation studios and a Master's degree in visual communication, is a key strength in our gaming courses. He's worked on modeling and rigging projects, developed curriculum for animation colleges, and served as a jury for 3D Game Art in National India Skills 2019. His strengths include troubleshooting, self-learning, and positivity.

He followed his dreams, worked hard, and got his first break with 'Technicolor' while still a student. He worked on TV series and was mentored by industry professionals. Xentrix Studio was his learning ladder, where he worked on movies, TV series, and games. He's now an animation faculty at AID, known for delivering conceptual training in an easy way. During free time, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, cooking, and creating new ideas. Expertise: 3D Animation, Acting for Animation. Achievements: Best Animator at MAAC & 24fps open competition.

Gautam, from Nagpur, followed his passion for animation after a bachelor's degree in electronics. He worked at top animation studios like Paprikaas, Prana, and DreamWorks India. With industry-rich knowledge from movies like Madagascar 3, Peabody and Sherman, Penguins Movie, he empowers students from diverse backgrounds. Sumit brings over 10 years of extensive experience in game art to AID. Sumit has worked on AAA title projects like Tekken 7, FIFA, NHL, SMACKDOWN, Final Fantasy 7, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 & 3, and many more. Sumit's expertise includes digital art, digital modeling & texturing, environment art, character modeling, texturing, high poly, and Unreal Engine. He has also received achievements such as being a topper in Bachelor of Fine Arts from Jamia Millia Islamia, exhibiting in a fine art group exhibition at Dr. Zakir Hussain Gallery.

Dev is a renowned Fine Arts and Graphic Design expert with 17 years of experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a diploma in Game Art. Currently the Creative Head at Creeative Bird Ad agency and Fine Art faculty at AID, Dev is known as one of Bangalore's best Fine Art faculties. Course Director-Game Development

Raj is a Certified Unity Developer, has a successful track record in game dev, starting his own studio and publishing mobile games. He has AR/VR and UI/UX expertise, and has worked at KLAP edutainment and Plastic Water Labs. His expertise: 3D & 2D games using Unity3D. Modules: Intro to Programming (JS), Data Structures, 2D Game Programming (JS/HTML5), Intro to Unity3D, Unity3D for Handhelds.

For his work, he has received the Best Compositing Award from Handmade Films for "Dhilluku Duddu" and was named Best Roto Artist for "Kadamban." With a background in BSc Visual Communication, Ahmed has contributed to several notable films, including "Veeram," "Biryani," "Anjaan," and "Petta." Manager, Operations

Bibin is the operations manager at AID handling and managing daily office operations as well as maintaining the admission database. With his rich experience and expertise in the education industry, he brings a wealth of administration, operation and leadership experience to the Asian Institute of Design. Bibin has a master’s degree in administration and management from SRM University and 12 years of experience in the AVGC industry. He facilitates and streamlines all the operational activities and functions for the smooth functioning of all the departments and the institution as a whole.

Nizar is the financial officer with more than 12 years of experience in finance and education industry. He is responsible for handling student registration, fee management and maintaining accounts of the company. He is the contact person to guide and advise students on matters related to fee payment.
